There are many different types of geographical features in Europe. Such as mountains, rivers, and islands. The mountain ranges in this area are the Pyrenees, Apennines, Alps, Massif Centrale, and the Carpathians mountains. Depending on the location, these mountains could have a great advantage to the people living near them. For instance, invaders would not easily be able to cross over mountains with all their equipment. Unfortunately, this would also limit people's ability to travel to other places. The rivers in this area include the Rhine, Danube, Po, Elbe, Seine, Thames, Nile, and Tagus rivers. This rivers also have advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include being restricted to traveling spaces. The advantages to having a river in the area are fertile land, fishing, a water source, and barrier to stop invaders. The Islands in this area are Sicily, Ireland, Sardinia, Great Britain, Corsica, Cyprus, Crete, Majorca, and the Shetland islands. An advantage of these islands is that you are safe from other people and from attacks, you have good fishing, as well as having fertile soil. A disadvantage could be flooding, isolation, and the fact that it would be hard to evacuate during an attack. The geography of Northern and Southern Europe is very different. This is because in Southern Europe there are more mountains and islands, while in Northern Europe there are more flat areas and rivers.
